QUICK NAIL DRYING SOLUTION

Need to paint your nails, but are limited on drying time?  No problem, go ahead and paint your nails, dry them for about 3 minutes so the polish settles a bit.  In the meantime, run the cold water for a few minutes hold water in a deep bowl, dip your finger nails only for a few second, pull fingers out and dip again in the cold water, repeat process, then wait a minutes for polish to settle.  You nails will dry faster this ways.

Who invented hair gel?

If you recall in March’s issue I did an article about the history of cosmetic and we touched on stiff ancient hairstyles.

Ancient Egyptians used a fat-based product to keep hair place. However, it’s been recorded that Irish Clonycavan man dating back between 392 BC & 201 BC, wore hair gel from made from pine tree resin imported from South-west France or Spain.  

Modern hair gel was invented by Luis Montoya in the 1960’s in the United States, naming his hair gel “Dep”.  Yes, that  is “Dep” the popular hair gel we see everywhere.

Ever heard of opulence in the air?  I can honestly say that, i feel like a queen when inhale a fine perfume.  I feel that the most exclusive perfumer from Europe, has come to visit me with a bottle of a perfume in hand, wrapped in elaborate packaging, waiting for me to unveil the magic potion.

Boadicea the Victorious, luxury perfumes are created by British Artisans.  This perfume company may be new to some and popular to many when the brand was launched in 2009 at Harrod’s, London, causing great sensation amongst consumers.  The unique perfume company is named after “Boadicea the Victorious” legend, the British warrior queen.   Boadicea the Victoriuos is bottled in their signature, intricate engraved, pewter over glass decanters, making this luxury perfume brand stand out amongst the crowd.    Boadicea the Victoriuos perfumes are unisex and crafted with elements that exult exoticness, playfulness, dangerous passion, sensuality, romance and elegance.  

My encounter with “Boadicea The Victorious”, let’s just say... a pleasant surprise.  I can honestly tell you that, i did not know of this perfume brand  till recently, when i was introduced to the brand by their distributor and well, the rest is a love story as you can sense. 

I received a few drops of four of their fragrances for sampling, along with some strips.   I sat in my office late at night and sprayed each perfume on strips and began taking notes after each inhalation.  I waited about 5 minutes before putting my nose to the strip, then i went back 30 minutes later, and i can’t tell you how exciting the process was.  Like i mentioned in my detailed brief perfume history article back in february’s beauty archive, “PERFUMES ARE MAGICAL!!!!!”.   I can’t explain just how magical decoding a fragrance is.  These perfumes are extremely well formulated and crafted, usually you will know within the first few minutes of spraying if your body agrees to that fragrance or not.  This was not the case, i had to play hide-and-go-seek with these four new friends in a garden labyrinth full of spices, flowers and fruits.  These Boadicea the Victorious perfumes are Divine, Arden, Exotic and Glorious.  The first sprays i knew immediately i could play with the two out of the four fragrances, however as hours passed i was excited to see what new elements flourished overnight.  New elements had exposed, very pleasant and exotic elements came to life.  I tested and analyzed the four perfumes for over seven days to really confirm my Boadicea the Victorious experience.  And the results have been rewarding for me, thus three of the fragrances have me hooked and addicted, all four perfumes revealed to be of high quality, elegant and exotic fragrances.    I am savoring my drops of magic and i want more. 

Results:

DIVINE

When I first sprayed Divine, I did not i did not agree with it.   It was soft, fresh, soapy, flowery, dried gardenias with hint of animal sources. very nice, but was not me, on the third day, Divine began to brake down and became more interesting. By the eighth day,  Divine revealed a totally different scent that i enjoy.  Overall, Divine is a very delicate perfume, very soft, clean and tranquill, a perfume i would wear if i wanted to relax.

ARDEN

When I first sprayed Arden, i smelled warm, musky, Arabic incense like, with a hidden hint of dried orange peels, it reminded me of when I lived in Dubai and i visited the local Bedouin tribe markets.  I knew i liked it, it was my first choice, but was a bit masculine for me, thus days later Arden became more and more fun with familiar notes. Overall, Arden is warm, sweet, hint of dried flowers with a drop of musk, perfectly balanced for men or women, a perfume i would wear to be around friends and colleges.

EXOTIC

When I first sprayed Exotic, i knew i loved it and it was my second choice.  I smelled cut-grass, citrus, a slight hint of vanilla, cedar wood, green walnuts, musky and witch hazel, this is a fantastic fragrance that hits home, we have walnut trees on our property and i love scratching the green walnuts and rubbing it on skin to get this very similar scent.  This a very exotic perfume, full of life, elegance and nostalgia.  Thus perfectly balanced for unisex wear, I get a slight hint more of woman in this one.   This is an extremely sensual exotic and powerful perfume, dangerous in a great way, predator like, sexual and confident, this perfume will for sure let people know that you have arrived.  A conversation piece, I would wear this around when i want attention.  Outstanding perfume, one of the greatest fragrances, I’ve ever come across.   Amazing!

GLORIOUS

When I first sprayed Glorious, i knew i loved it ‘s flowery, dry fruits, a hidden passion fruit scent with a hint of wood or musk.  Outstanding, very eclectic, fun, naughty and powerful!  This is another  very exotic perfume, full of life and adventure, screams out  great elegance and strength.  Thus perfectly balanced for unisex wear, I get a slight hint more of man in this one.   This is an extremely exotic and aggressive perfume, this perfume will for sure also let people know that you have arrived.  A conversation piece, screams out great confidence and royalty, I would wear this to a ball at any royal palace and be respected.  This is a very demanding and aggressive perfume.    Outstanding perfume, one of the greatest fragrances, I’ve ever come across.   Amazing!
