# 2 Louis Vuitton, Aug/4/1821 - Feb/27/1892
Born in Anchay, France on August , 1821 to a working class family of carpenters, milliners, farmers and joiners. At the age of 10, his mother died and his father remarried soon after, a stepmother known to be of mean spirit. With a headstrong and stubborn personality, In 1835 , Vuitton at the young age of 14 ran away from home, from his stepmother and away from his boring home town of Anchay to the France's capital, Paris. With a two year journey by foot ahead, Vuitton took odd jobs to feed himself and staying wherever he could for shelter., arriving in industrial Paris in 1837. He worked for Monsier Marechal as an apprentice for Marechal’s successful box-making and packing company. Vuitton quickly gained a reputation as a quality craftsman amongst the Parisian fashion class.
In 1851, when Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte assumed the Emperor of France title, Napolean III married SPanish Countess Eugine de Montijo. Montijo hired Vuitton as her personal packer and box-maker, describing Vuitton as “packing the most beautiful clothes in an exquisite way”. His skilled services gained Vuitton royal and elite cliental for the remainder of his life.
In 1854, Vuitton married his 17 year old wife, Clemece-Emilie Parriax, left the shop and opened his own workshop in Paris for the acclaimed services and putting up a sign outside the shop that read “Securley packs the most fragile objects. Specializing in packing fashions.” Vuitton introduced his revolutionary stackable trunks in 1858, in a non-competitive market, his trunks were very unique from others. Such uniqueness brought Vuitton high demands which required him to move his shop to a larger workshop outside of Paris. Vuitton worked util his death on February 27, 1882. He died at the age of 70.
Following his death, Vuitton’s son Georges took control over the company.
The brand offers high quality products ranging from leather goods, trunks, footwear, time pieces, jewelry, accessories, books, ready-to-wear, and even sunglasses. Without any doubts, Vuitton’s legacy and luxury products continue to be highly demanded and appreciate. The luxury brand has been named the world’s most valuable luxury brand. Louis Vuitton is one of the world’s leading fashion houses with a value of $25.9 billion dollars, recorded in 2012.
It’s without any doubts, that Louis Vuitton is a not only a leader in the fashion industry, but a brand that continues to offer high quality goods.

2014 IS THE ANYTHING GOES IN FASHION!
Some of the greatest fashion statements are coming out of South Korea and Japan. THat’s if you are looking for functional, funky, unique and playful styles.
I’m also noticing some really nice fashion designers out of India. Expect to see a lot heavy beading, long elegant garments and gold accents from them.
This year fashion has taken a very interesting turn, lot’s of cultural inspired outfits, lot’s of art being printed and thus the color seem to be on the pale side, the colors are being mixed matched and contrasted with black. In other words tis the year of fun, wear whatever fancies your mood. If you have a packed 80’s box with stuff you thought you would never, this is a good time to revisit that box and get creative. I am sure, some of your polyesters, flowery garments, tennis skirts and platform shoes will fit right in.
Have fun shopping and revisiting tucked away stuff in your closet.

A NOTE FROM EDITOR-IN-CHIEF,
Giselle Trujillo
Trends come and go and as i mentioned in previous articles, I am not very trendy, but appreciate most great styles transitioning right before my eyes. What i’ve realized is that fashion trends arrive in the USA pretty late, like two years late. I remember when I went to London a few years ago, I went crazy shopping in TopShop, came back home with some great styles. People commented on my shoes, coats and dresses everywhere i went, they asked, where did you get this and that and I would say, TopShop and everyone looked at me like I had two heads. I wore down my goods and three years after my trip, TopShop established a store in New York City, now it’s become the new trendy place. I come across some really unique things, that i feel worth putting here. Besides, seems that with the power of the internet, fashion trends are growing faster than ever. I bring you trends from overseas.
NOTE FROM OUR EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, GISELLE TRUJILLO:
